TECH RIDER
asses.masses is a scalable performance and can be hosted in a variety of venue sizes; the technical needs are quite minimal compared to our other shows. The following are our ideal choices, though we are happy to talk through options.
VENUE (provided by venue):
Performance venue with blackout capabilities
Proscenium style seating with a raked audience
Cyclorama or white wall for receiving projection
Minimum stage stage: 12’ x 24’ (smaller or larger is possible; for context, the show works best with venues of a capacity of 50 - 75 people)
SET (provided by venue):
Single black plinth, approx. 12in x 12in x 38in
A PS4 controller will sit on this plinth when not in the hands of players
SOUND AND MEDIA (provided by venue):
Sound: Access to house sound system using two quarter inch cables with subwoofer
Power: Access to power for computer
Projector: House projector connected via HDMI [ideal projector brightness is 6K Lumens or above]; 1920x1080p resolution
Lighting: Dimmable gallery lights or controllable theatre lighting for a single spotlight over the downstage centre area
EQUIPMENT*:
(1) 2021 MacBook Pro with Unity Game Engine
(1) Audio Interface (Sound Card)
(2) PS4 game controller (one backup)
(2) 82ft USB Extender Cable (one backup)
(2) USB-C to HDMI Adapter (one backup)
(1) 100ft HDMI Cable, unidirectional
*Three variations on equipment:
If travelling with the show, the artists can bring all the equipment and would just need to cover check-in luggage fees for their single tour-ready Pelican case which holds all the equipment necessary for the show. This is the ideal, however, the artists do not necessarily need to be present for the work to be fully presented (as was the case for the 2021 show in Buenos Aires).
As such, the artists are able and open to freighting these materials from Vancouver, Canada.
Alternatively, we have also successfully run the show with locally sourced equipment, with us having sent a DMG file to the show computer for download. This option requires more tech time to set up and troubleshoot with the local show computer.
TECH LOAD-IN + SETUP + STRIKE:
~2 - 3 hours for load-in, set-up, and tech
~30min for show set-up before performance
15 minutes for strike after performance
30 minutes for strike after the final show
